Good to see them pushing quick updates. Shame the wifi still isn't enabled. Does root still work? (I assume so but didn't see it mentioned). Thank you for all the work you're doing on this radio, it's quite awesome to watch.

I have to agree with you. If a vendor released an update for a piece of
network gear we operate, and they didn't increment the version info, I
wouldn't even bother installing it, believing they'd just typo'd the annoncement.

I’m not sure if Xiegu is willing to make this an open source radio, If so could be a super radio if the manufacturer is willing to work closely with developers. However with that said, how is the performance of the actual TX/ RX, all the fancy features are worthless unless the radio basics are good. Thank you for all your hard work, some of the things are above my head as far as programming since I’m more of an RF guy, but I understand what is being done. It will be even more amazing 5 to 10 years in the future. Enjoy the videos very much, I especially like the smaller bite size videos . Thank you! 73 de N6LPV

This is awesome news ! Your right about having a technical background / being tech savy to get this firmware update done. The version number thing is just plain weird.

I tested batter charging last night after the firmware update and it will not charge over 8.0 volts. Before the firmware update it would charge over that but never stop charging. Not sure i will even keep my radio at this point. Thanks for all the work.

When doing the update, make sure you plug the radio in. I tried it without plugging the radio in and every time I selected "Upgrade" in the Systems Menu the radio shut off.

Good video❗️ TO have you checked how long a charged battery will last on just receive and how long it will last in normal QSO ❓It does not last long at all ❗️I got 1 1/2 HR. On receive only and only 30 Min. My battery will never charge above 8 Volts.

Looks like they were up against it so they released too early and are now relying on the customers and the YouTubers to do their testing for them. Reminds me of the auto industry

It kinda creates a job...too bad any surviving hobby shops would never hire a person to firmup sdr rigs...or will they 🧐
Like on phones, updates seem to fix not so major issues, but establish and disperse program hosts, guests. The tiny 4 band rig they make has a click (short press) tuning knob feature to go down a place in frequency tuned, or hold to go up...the new ones are Lupe Fiasco only, or (long press) goes into a submenu mode, semi-unfortunately.

That's easier then updating the G90.
