Inductor's basic property to keep current constant causes current to lag behind the voltage. If you want to know how this happens, watch the video.

So I've watched probably 10 videos prior to this one as I was having much difficulty understanding this concept...and this one knocked it out of the park!! Great job, very good explanation.

Lagging of current is due to magnetism produced in solenoid which according to lenze law is opposite in direction 🧑

Sir great explanation no doubt about it but I need to ask you one thing in capacitor current flows through it, it charges & stores energy in the form of electrostatic energy & while discharging more amount of voltage flows constantly in a shorter time....& in inductor voltage flows through it it stores energy in the form of magnetic field then it gives constant current I need to ask you then why capacitor lead voltage by 90 degrees & why inductor lags current by 90 degrees

thanks sir....
u elaborated this very
i like this

Still need to go in depth... Of inductor like magnetic properties... Like when the domains of the. Inductor is in a shattered way.... It will need to be aligned in straight way so that it is a lag

Question: How do engineers determine the direction of the windings on a transformer to get a particular phase shift?

ELI the ICE man.... so much easier. Current leads voltage in a capacitance circuit, and voltage leads current in an inductive circuit.
