Family Planning as a Vital Element of Climate Resilience and Social Justice

Показать описание
The floods of 2022 have underscored the importance of prioritising family planning in climate resilience and rehabilitation strategies in Pakistan. Mainstreaming family planning services and ensuring effective delivery can have a chain reaction in improving many other development outcomes – by improving the health of mothers and their children, family planning augments people's climate resilience.
Tabadlab is organising a Policy Roundtable to discuss the unmet needs for family planning among women across the country, especially those affected by disasters. What are the potential opportunities and challenges for
incorporating family planning services as part of basic health and hygiene support? How can we make the provision of family planning services an essential commodity in relief efforts?
With insights from:
- Dr Adil Najam (Dean Emeritus and Professor, Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies, Boston University)
- Dr Zeba Sathar (Senior Associate and Pakistan Country Director, Population Council)
- Dr Faisal Sultan (CEO, Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre)
- Dr Ayesha Rasheed (Country Director Pakistan, Pathfinder International)
- Anam Zeb (Climate Change Expert)
