Oropharyngeal cancers caused by HPV are becoming increasingly common, particularly among younger adults who might not have other traditional risk factors for throat cancer, such as smoking or heavy alcohol use.

I actually got really good sex ed. I was taught that you can get STDs in your throat. Not just HPV, but chlamydia and gonorrhea. Not sure about syphilis. Always use protection when you do ANYTHING, and make damned sure you can trust your partner if you both get tested and decide to change that.

The bottom line is to slow way down in selecting a partner to increase the likelihood of an honestly committed relationship. ...And to find out whether or not there's any kind of testing that can show us if this virus is present.

Lucky to have the shots now. I got hpv at 17 & let me tell you girls. It's not fun. It caused me cervical cancer, lost two babies. Be safe

Honestly education did my parents generation dirty. I told my mum she had to keep an eye out for throat cancer because of hpv and i then had to explain that any oral sex in the past can lead to it.

The funny bit was when i said the more you did it with the more partners the higher risk you are and shes like "good thing i didnt like it i guess
