so u can use an external graphics card with your laptop and get more performance out of your laptop , simply by adding a better gpu

bare in mind there are pros and cons to doing this
weigh them out and se if its for you

i used a pcie 4.0 version in order to maximize performance , and get as much out of the gpu as possible as well as the laptop

love it ...great way to use a much more powerful gpu with a descent laptop. I find alot of laptops have good cpus but it lacks in gpu. due to the cost .so having this is perfect way to keep your laptop up to date using a much more powerful gpu ❤❤

really in-depth video but please please let me know if you can break off the m.2 riser to fit a smaller nvme slot like 2422 instead of a full 2280 nvme slot. I would prefer it if my boot SSD isnt just hanging from my laptop when I replace it's slot lol. I always watch these videos but never found the answer so a response would be very appreciate!

I have a Toshiba Tecra M9 laptop which ‘packed in’ last week - I suspect the NVIDIA Quadro NVS 130M: chip / card is dead ..
is there a way to connect this laptop to a display ( monitor) so I can access a program on the computer and save valuable data ..
the graphics chip is welded ( soldered ) to the motherboard.. so apart from a re-flow or reball .. ?? ..
I’m not a tech or computer literature guy .. just a civil engineer- so know nothing about PC ‘s or laptops

Really cool! I guess it makes it less complicated if you didnt use another nvidia for an egpu. Because nvidia has a desktop and a mobile drive so having 2 nvidia would cause some problems. The dgpu has to be disavled for the egpu if thats the case

Hi, thanks for the detailed video! I have the MSI katana gf66 11ue RTX 3060 laptop almost identical to the one your using. I also got the egpu setup and plugged in, my only problem is that it doesn't start up when I switch on the Laptop? The laptop starts right up but the EGPU doesn't, and I did everything exactly as in the video? The only difference is that I've got a spare m.2 slot in mine witch is the same slot you used in the video. Do I need to change something in the Bios? And if I do can you please guide me on how to do it?
