Pop-up, bulletproof room for schools creator: ‘We need to have something in place’ | NewsNation Pr

In the wake of the deadly Nashville school shooting, conversations about how to keep students safe have been renewed across the country. A security company based in Alabama is piloting a bulletproof, pop-up safe room with the intention of providing cover during an active shooter situation. Following the tragedy in Tennessee, safe room creator Kevin Thomas says he feels a sense of urgency and is working with lawmakers.

Why not just make steel doors that’s bulletproof and that they can’t kick in! And if there’s windows in classrooms make bulletproof glass. This is a great idea but all schools won’t be-able to afford this so only the best schools will get it !

Why don't we have armed guards at schools? We have them in banks. Children should be held in higher regard than money.

I have a lot of respect for Kevin, but this folding room is not going to work. ALL THE PSYCHOPATH HAS TO DO IS FIRE INTO THE CORNER WHERE THE BULLET PROOF ROOM WALL FITS AGAINST THE CINDER BLOCK WALL, THE BULLET WILL GO THROUGH THE CINDER BLOCK WALL AND RICCOCHET INTO THE BULLETPROOF ROOM. Where the bullet proof wall meets the standard cinder block wall is a weak spot.

Had the glass in school doors been bullet proof, the killer wouldn't have gotten in..The doors were locked, but she was able to shoot out glass.
