Yes, it's a crime. Fastest way to correct this is actually to sell the 4090 while the price is inflated and change it to a 4080 or 7900xtx. It's either that or change the monitor to a 4k.

Certainly, but dropping in a 13700K will achieve an immediate parole.

Could you PLEASE do a clip on why 16GB of RAM on even ultra budget builds in 2023 is a crime? I had to talk 2 of my Discord buddies this week out of going with 16 on their new budget AM4 gaming rigs because so many YT budget builders still recommend 16GB, luckily I was able to talk them out of it and now their 5600x and 5700x gaming rigs purr like kittens. Building new systems with 16GB is just nuts and having a "don't do this in 2023" clip I could link to to counter the "16GB all ya need bro" vids would be helpful.

A crime for sure.. or, welcome to the 4090 experience.
They need to do the 13700k upgrade, make sure they have 64Gb ram and don't forget to upgrade the monitor.
One does not simply buy a 4090 alone.

Yes it is. Time/money can fix it but B board, 12600K, 4090. Should have been at least a 12700K/12900K or 13700K/14700K. With a Z board if you can afford a 4090.

Not a crime. The Crime is the 1440p monitor. That 600k chip is just fine. You won't see much difference in games upgrading that CPU over upgrading that monitor.

2:13 Careful, you can damage the socket's pins doing this

why would you change a 3080 if you still going to play at 1440p.

Would it be a crime to upgrade to a 50 series GPU in the future on a 12700k (rumored to release Q4 of 2024)? I don't expect a 5070/5080 equivalent to be on par with a current 4090, maybe close. I did buy a 12700k for Black Friday but maybe I should've stepped up.

Update bios on motherboards this made my rtx 4080 stop crashing and various errors plus windows 11 was more better and stable as well.

in my opinion 12 cores or more for a 90 series card, nothing else even vaguely makes sense

Speaking from experience, you dont want a 13700k on a b660. I swapped a 12400 out for the i7 and had all kinds of stability issues gaming. This was an MSI Mag Tomahawk. MSI z690 Edge fixed that.

I also have 4 sticks of ddr4 4o00 so 🤷😅

He simply sent that comment to make you cringe and laugh lol

Naw is not a crime. He will eventually upgrade monitor and cpu.

Please do a show on the DDR-5 perpetual training problems on all motherboards. Nobody is addressing this problem which is unacceptable.

I sold my 12700k upgraded to a 13700k, on 2nd pc went from 12700k to 13600k to finally 13900k got “open box” for $377. One has a 3090 one has a 7900 xtx. I also build and sell pc’s as a hobby/
Side hustle its addictive.

I also think best bang for the buck now is the new i7 14700k it is 20 cores and almost as fast as the 13900k.
