none of these things worked for me. But what did work was at 1m17s in on that screen left hand side menu options, last one... Media streaming options. clicked on that and turned it on. done without restarting the pc

It is odd. I can cast from my chrome browser no problem, so I think everything is set up well, but when I try to cast from windows (Ctrl K) my wireless projector does not appear in the list at all

Make sure any firewall or antivirus software is up-to-date and not blocking connections to the Chromecast device
Check your firewall or antivirus software settings.

I am using Hitachi 3f1e10 65 inc Smart TV. anytime I select the wireless display option, the tv will lose wifi network making it impossible for my windows 10 to cast on the tv. But my Samsung Mobile Phone always cast on the tv without a wifi connection. Any Idea how to fix this issue?

I wish it was that simple... I hav a Windows 10 computer with netwirk discovery permanantly disabled no matter what I try. It happened after updating Windows to 21H2...

This is crap. It works when it wants to work. I've tried all the fixes and Windows just reverts back to where Cast to Device does not work.

Microsoft support pages specifically state that they purposely stopped supporting Chromecast.

Excellent It solved my problem after many attemps doing what other sites said to do . I think the update of the device in the devices manager did the trick . Many many thanks

None of these solved the issue. My main computer, with the media files, is seen by other computers as is the Windows Media Player running on it. The mobile phone can also access the files. On the desktop I have to find other computers by name and casting from Windows Media Player fails to find anything. Other computers and latops do not have this problem. It has worked, when initially setting up the speakers but after a few months just stopped.

Turn On the SMB 1.0/CIFS File Sharing Support - worked for accessing other computers

Cant even see what i am casting from the pc cause the screen went blank, smmfh. On my tv the menu is open and i cant move the mouse to enlarge what i want to cast cause my pc is downstairs

My Windows 10 PC would lose casting while all other devices in house still casted. Not sure but I think after software updates. I fixed it with option 2, upload new driver. I used the Microsoft qualcomm driver, top pick of many. Thanks
