This clip is from the Ukranian show Servant of the People. In it current Ukranian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy plays a history teacher unexpectedly elected to the Presidency after a video of him ranting against corruption goes viral. Once he becomes President, however, he discovers that it's not so easy to fix decades worth of corruption.

This is a speech where he addresses the issues in fixing the roads and is accused of being like all the other corrupt politicians.

It's almost a case of life imitating art imitating life... Who knows which comes first, but the themes and frustrations are endemic to most societies and it really speaks to that.

Enjoy. Slava Ukraini!

This man fired his defense minister for corruption in the middle of a war against the largest country on earth.

This man means what he says.

Just got done watching this episode on Netflix. One of President Zelensky's finest acting moments. What a guy!

I don't think this is prescient. I think it is the heart of the campaign pitch for Volodomyr Zelenskyy, and it's brilliant. He earned a law degree (at a Ukrainian university), after all, and lawyers are very well versed in logic and ethics. My guess is that he considered practicing law, realized he'd be going down a path that was inherently wrong, and may have become a comic (who also deal in logic) just so he could do what he did in making this series, in becoming president, and in turning Ukraine around. It's not just prescient. It's world-changing. Go, Volodymyr!

On this series, we are watching history in the making.

One of the best speeches ever given on television. It reminded me of one of Aaron Sorkin's epic rants.

This is so prescient. From Servant of the People to a really great statesman.

I watched this episode (Episode 15) last night on Netflix with no problems. It's lovely. My concern is that Netflix has yet to contract for the following two seasons.

So where is the rest of this episode? I've spent the pass couple of days watching the first season, now suddenly episode 15 is missing, why? Does anyone know?

The link to Season 1 Episode 15 is broken. I have searched everywhere. Does anyone know where I can find it?

Show this video to anyone in the world, and they'll understand the eroding power of systemic corruption.

Show this to a Russian, and they'll think "hur, hur, Ukrainians are yokels."

My Grandfather was a doctor in Czechoslovakia in the 20th century and he lost his lucrative position when my elder claimed asylum. But, he got to build a cottage and only paid 25 rubles per ton of Marble he got from the Czech Quarry. Communism at its best, who knew, my estranged grandfather Milso Drapel. But when I spent 3 years in jail in Ontario Canada waiting for trial between November 2018 and November 2021 I got acquited of a serious arson charge because the Jury believed the Russians who helped the Americans in 2016 where trying to help the Illuminati in 2018 when they tried to kill me before I went to jail to save my life in court. I was acquited and released. I live to this day.
