I am a fisheries biologist and kept crayfish in my aquariums because they fascinate me. One thing I found out early on is that if they don't have what they need and what satisfies their life style, they will do everything in their power to migrate out in an attempt to find better living conditions. I would find them all over the house after a night of the great escape. When I gave them cover, or places to hide under, they never wanted to leave the tank again. Except for the canablisum they seemed quite happy.
