Sir Salman Rushdie is an author known for writing The Satanic Verses, a book deemed by Iran as being blasphemous to Islam.

Yesterday (August 12), Mr Rushdie was stabbed in the neck and abdomen on stage at the Chautauqua Institution as he prepared to deliver a lecture.

After winning the Booker Prize in 1981, Mr Rushdie went on to write one of the most controversial books in recent literary history, The Satanic Verse, which immediately saw angry demonstrations.

Rushdie : "Islam is violent and toxic "
Muslims: * try to kill him multiple times *
he has a valid point?

I think Muslims who disagree with this violence have to stand up to this outrage.

Where are all the Muslims condemning this attack?

It sickens me to see the amount of people defending this. “God is great and if you disagree I’ll stab you in the neck”. And therein lies the problem. I wonder how many of our own people in this country pretend to denounce these actions but are secretly rooting for the attacker.

Even the people saying something along the lines of “well he didn’t deserve *this* but he shouldn’t have offended us” are still defending the attacker.

Living your whole life thinking you’re special and you’re going to live on eternally after you pass, with all the non believers burning in some sort of hell, when in all probability you’ll rot in the ground like the rest of us and the only thing you’ve achieved is a lifetime of hatred and spite for anyone who dares offend you. Get over it. We’re not going to change and actions like this will only make it worse for you.

It is disgusting, but sadly not surprising, to see so many islamists in this comment section *defending* this appalling attack. How can you defend this blatant act of terrorism and still call yourselves “a religion of peace”? You cannot.

This just further confirms Islam is not a peaceful religion, it showed it to the whole wide world.

We had the Crusades here in England, for a very good reason, to stop the Caliphate, and we won. Don't let a Muslim forget it

To many people are offended by words. Remember, actions are louder than words!
