One time at school I wanted to hold my breath I went for longer than I ever did in my life and I literally like wasn't dying without air I literally felt like I was full of oxygen idk if it's normal or not bc I stayed for 5 mins and my friend was like amazed but on avarage I can hold my breath for 40 seconds

i started a timer after doing this, i was so surprised to see that i made it past 2:15 when i opened my eyes. it felt like 45 seconds. i could maybe do 2:45 after using this technique

I got thirsty underwater once and I took a big sip. I left my waterbottle at the top of the pool.
Very refreshing.

Breathing exercises beforehand is a great way to "top off the tank" and flood your body with oxygen prior to your final breath and holding. This looks much more controled, I usually just hyperventilate then take a large breath. Holding your breath under water is almost meditative because it forces you to be calm if you're going to hold it for a long time.

I did this process and managed to hold my breath x2 longer, i could hold my breath for a minute before getting really uncomfortable, and now after this process i could hold it for 2 minutes straight!

I like you, and I like your exercises. I do them a bunch, but I have to address something, and I almost feel like I need to make my own youtube channel to properly mount this crusade.

All breathing is done using your diaphragm! It's just how breathing works!

The breathing you, and SO many others are talking about engages additional muscles to aid the diaphragm. Your r. abdominis, your obliques, your trans abdominis, your quadratus lumborum. Those are the guys we use to really push and pull any volume of air more than a relaxed breath.
My training is in classical voice, and if there's 1 thing classical singers do better than most, it's breathe.

That said, your videos are great and they're part of my routine maintenance!

I normally hold my breath for like 20 seconds and cant do it any more today I made it to a whole min this works well

Our preperation breathing in the starting course was 4sec inhale, 8 second exhale for 2 minutes before final breath... so many tiny differences between divers...

Went from 1:45 to 2:25 lol but I didn’t hold my breath for 1 year so with a little practice I can reach 3min easily
