Virgin TV 360 Upgrade - Step By Step Upgrade, Unboxing And Review | TiVo to Horizon TV

I will show you how to upgrade the Virgin V6 box to the new Virgin TV 360 running the new Horizon TV Software.
The Virgin TV upgrade was pretty smooth. The instructions say it can take up to 1 hour. Mine took about 10 minutes. It was very simple, easy to follow instructions and worked well.

Please note - when you perform the upgrade - you will lose all recording etc on the current v6 boxes you have. So all series links etc will need to be setup again once the upgrade is compete.

Super-powerful Voice Search and Control
Say it, see it. Hit the Mic button on the Virgin TV 360 remote and tell the box what to do. Play around: it’s a breeze to search and find programmes across live TV, Catch Up, Box Sets, or open built-in apps like Netflix or Amazon Prime (if you subscribe) – perfect when you want to find something in a pinch.

Voice control can save you many clicks and you can navigate very quickly.

Hold the Microphone symbol on your TV 360 remote and tell your box what to do.

Play around: you can get to live TV, Box Sets, integrated apps and recordings, just by talking. There might even be a few hidden surprises in there…

Search content With the voice search you can easily look for various contents: -
movies & series ,actors, genres ,relevant themes channels, apps
Surf and change channels Hop to your favourite channels! Via the voice search get directly to your favourite channels Call up menus Call up menus and applications quicker: - Recordings - Watch list - Radio - Settings - Apps such as Netflix, Youtube etc. Control your TV 360 Box with voice commands - Super-fast rewinding and fast-forwarding: say "5 minutes forwards and backwards" while watching a Replay or OnDemand programme or recording - Replay: "start over" & "start again" will start the current programme, recording or OnDemand content again - Navigate in the TV guide: "Saturday, 8 pm, Monday evening, last Wednesday" - Save programmes for later: "add to watch list", "record" - Activate subtitles with the voice command "subtitles on / off"

Profiles for everyone at home
With Profiles, your TV experience is totally yours. Sign in to carry on watching where you left off, or skip right to your favourite channels. And rest easy: your personalised recommendations aren’t affected by what the rest of the family watches, so you get straight to the TV you actually like (handy when the little ones have been watching the same show for the last six months).

With the profile function, up to 6 additional profiles can be created, and a name, colour and individual channel list can be defined for each one. To create a profile, press the «profile» button on your remote control and follow the instructions on the screen. With the same button you can switch between your profiles at any time.

The following settings and functions are profile based:

• Favourites list (including the order in the channel bar & TV Guide)

• Menu language / audio language / subtitle settings

• Recommendations

• Continue watching the content

• Watchlist All other functions and content are accessible for all profiles.

Tip: You can also use the profile function to create more channel lists for yourself, such as for sports channels & children’s channels.

Finally managed to get mine after waiting a little while. I still don’t quite understand Virgins price plans though. They wanted £85 altogether and then I said nah, went out of contract and they were ringing me and saying it’s now £60 for 200 Mbps, a booster pod and TV 360 with HD channels and BT Sport. I was told this package was £100 but with 300 Mbps. Just don’t get it sometimes but happy with what I got and if you don’t ask, you don’t get. Great video

I'm so used to Sky navigation. Think I might struggle when we get virgin 360 box. Good realise that cable goes into 360 box....thought it was wireless

I find it exciting to watch British TV technology. if something new is brought out in the UK, it always comes 1 year later in Germany. For us, Vodafone is the cable TV provider and our product is called Giga TV. At sky Germany, what you have already had for a year always comes to us. SO it was with sky Q. On April 1st, we will also receive the Sky Comedy and SKy crime channels in Germany. You Brits are always 1 to 2 years ahead of us in TV technology. I've watched this video a couple of times now, as I was considering 'upgrading' to the 360 but after discovering that some of the features of my current V6 box will disappear, I think I'll keep what I've got as it works perfectly well - except for the odd catch-up channel, that is.

All depends how much all this Stream 360 is they say no contact and cancel any but how easy is it. Bet you have to have it 18 months.. looks good as well. Do you still need cable wire plug in or doe’s it run through your wireless

I have 2 boxes a original Tivo box upstairs and a V6 box downstairs. I am only being sent a replacement upgrade for the original Tivo box and not the V6. How do I install and pare the 360 box to the original Tivo box without effecting anything on the V6 box as your instructions mention only mention paring the V6.I do not want to loose all my recordings on the newer v6 box and would think I do not need to pare to the V6 at all. TIA

It is amazing how you upgraded the V6 to the 360 software, just by doing a software update! This should really help the people who can't afford the 360 box!

As someone with Virgin broadband and telephone and Sky TV, I'm considering whether to move over to Virgin for everything. My question though is what connection does the main box need. Is it ethernet or is it the f type coax connection. The reason I ask this is I can't rip up the floor to add an f type connection but I already have ethernet to the TV cabinet. I saw there is the older style coax connector on the back. What is that for, why would you need to plug an aerial in if you already have free view channels via the box.

I had to cancel my 360 as it was a terrible “upgrade” it’s more of a “downgrade” — half the apps are not brought over from TiVo, there’s no NEW flags on new programming, fast forwarding keeps scrolling from the speeds soo often go from fast to slow etc - no FIRST AIRED date, — just weeks like a downgrade

I think it’s ridiculous that every time you do something like this like upgrade to a new box all of your recordings disappear because they’re on the internal hard drive even if you’re using the same box you’ve paid to be able to save those it’s about time they sorted that out
