Excel Quickie 18 - Convert All Negative Values to Positive Values in Excel

Two simple and effective ways to quickly convert negative numbers to positive numbers in Excel.

These methods work well on single cells or entire data sets. This tutorial includes multiple methods for getting positive values from a list, one that works only on negative values and one that works for lists that have both negative and positive values in them.

As well, I'll show you how to quickly convert all values output by a formula into their visible values.

Thanks for the tips. Another method.. Find & Replace.. 1) Highlight the range of numbers you want to process; 2) CTRL+H for Find & Replace dialog; 3) Find what: the "-" symbol (don't use the quotation marks); 4) Replace with: either the "+" symbol or leave blank; 5) Click on Replace All. This procedure will remove all the "-" symbols in the highlighted range, thereby turning your negatives into positives. Thanks for sharing your methods. Thumbs up!
