I had a 2020 RAM Bighorn...fully loaded 5.7l with chrome package... $41K. So basically doubled in 4 years. Wow. They can't figure it out. How about lower the price, sell more vehicles, make some money. Rather than raise the price, sell no vehicles, make no money. Not that hard to figure it out.

I honestly don’t understand how someone could afford a truck half that price.

That 5.7 Hemi ran on cheap regular and the new Hurricane runs on premium. Kiss your buyers goodbye.

I'm 55 and the last time I bought a new car was in 1990 and it was 12K. I've only had 5 used cars since then paying no more than $4k for a used vehicle. None were financed. I live (especially since 2020) extremely frugal and it works well for me. I don't own any credit cards, not car payments, own my home outright (paid cash). What is really incredible is that I only make $2100 a month!

In 2017 I bought a brand new fully loaded ram 1500 rebel for 47K that same truck today is almost 90K. And doesn't even have the same engine available. I'll pass until ram comes back to reality

Basically- these high prices equal a mortgage for a new vehicle. My family member works for a dealership-- a lot of recalls on newer vehicles, folks.

I've turned into a chrysler mechanic. All that has come in lately is chrysler products. Electrical issues, trans issues, engine issues. In the last two weeks, four blown 3.6 engines. I have a '22 Bighorn sitting here with 45k miles that Chrysler denied the repairs on a thrown rod. The engine is locked up with 15k miles left on the factory drivetrain warranty. But I guess warranties are only good when they say they are. Most of my customers are saying they don't want another Dodge. Even my sister-in-law had a '19 caravan with the 3.6 that I had to put a new head on for the #2 misfire issue. Supposedly they fixed the issue and didn't cover '18 up for the recall. She said she's done with them.
As a mechanic, I can honestly say Rams have so much crap on the engines, I really hate pulling them. If you think Fords are bad, do a new Ram, you'll change your mind. I just got the engine out of the '22 so I can install a salvage engine and get it done. The dealer quoted $14, 500 for a new engine. The owner said no, came to me and now costing him $5500 with labor for a salvage yard 65k mile engine.
No wonder they are having issues. Fire the ceo. Fire the engineers. Go back to the drawing board.

Do truck companies not realize that half a truck is just a bed with 4 walls and not even enclosed. These things should be cheaper than 4 cylinder cars. Trucks are so cheap in materials to produce but CEO's seem to think buyers won't realize this cause they are idiots so let's use them for huge profits.

All of Stellantis - A bunch of smart people with MBAs running multiple US brands into the dirt!
These RAM trucks should be going at 2004 prices in order to clear them out. I"m going down to the dealership and make an offer on a 2022 Ram 4x4 at its average used book value and see what they say. They are fools if they think they'll get anywhere near a new price!

Damn, who knew the upcharging on your trucks and getting rid of one of the most iconic v8s in the world would have negative effects?

Remember kids. It doesn't cost 80 grand if you dont buy it.

No hemi, no sales. Seems to be the case. And the outrageous cost with turbos?? Good luck.

These trucks are 100% overpriced. Just what are you going to use $100, 000 truck for? Insurance alone will kill you much less the over $1000 monthly payment. add in the shitty gas milage and you better be willing to live in it.

10 years ago I bought a loaded dodge ram. Great truck, still have it. Only option it didn’t have was a moon roof, it was 43k. They were cheaper than other brands, nicer interiors, more power……… now there’s zero reason to buy

2022? Talk about lot rot. 70k? Someone would be out of their mind to buy a vehicle that has been sitting for that long at even half of the price. Don’t walk away, run.
