Catching Catfish in Strange Places

In this catfish fishing video I am fishing for catfish from a boat trolling cut bait in an attempt to find biting catfish in a lake. The feeding catfish are not normally in deep water when it is hot because the thermocline prevents them from living there. On this trip I was finding catfish in deep water around the old river channel. The catfish bait was cut bait, which is one of the best catfish baits to use.

Just fished lake Wylie this morning again. Shrimp is still where it’s at for me so far. I caught 2 channels, 4 bluegill and a turtle within 3 hours. Now I’m back home and I just cooked up the rest of my bait I had left over. Fish bait salad and a baked potato lol that’s my update for today. I hope you are having good luck.

I've been having a tough time catching them on the chowan river . I've been trying everything live bait, cut, chicken, nightcrawler, crickets .Santee Cooper rigs, bottom rigs suspended rigs just skunking

What trolling motor ya using? Do you have GPS to control your troll/drift? Or just foot control?

You didn't kill the fish first before cutting a piece of flesh. The fish must have suffered unnecessary still alive with a chunk of flesh fillet cut off.
