This was recommended to me and I'm 24... I absolutely agree with you. This is the "Defining Decade, " as psychologists call it!!! :)

The video is saying that when you're around 24, you have to make three big life choices:

1. Where you live – The city or place you choose can change your future. For example, moving to a big city with more job opportunities can help you grow faster, while staying in a small town might limit you.

2. Who you're with – The people around you (friends, partner) affect your happiness and success. If you’re in a toxic relationship or have negative friends, they can hold you back. But if you choose supportive and ambitious people, they can help you grow.

3. What you do – Your job or career matters because you’ll spend years doing it. If you rush into a job you don’t like, you might feel stuck. But if you take time to find something you enjoy and that pays well, your future will be better.

The speaker says that people spend years in bad jobs and relationships but don’t take enough time choosing them in the first place. Since these choices affect your life for a long time, you should take months or even a year to pick the right ones.

Also, life is full of distractions, so you need to say no to unimportant things and focus on making these big decisions carefully.

the hardest part for me is finding out how to make these decisions. for example, how does one choose what city to live in? where does one go to do research on this type of thing? I feel like I've wasted most of my prime years just trying to make these decisions and pretty much just ended up in indecision/not knowing how to make the decisions, and I might have been better off just trying a bunch of things rather than overanalyzing.

maybe a better piece of advice is just ape in and change direction quickly (but not too quick, giving it a chance) if it doesn't seem to be the right decision?

Whenever someone thumbs ups my comment, I'll be reminded of the 3 big decisions.
1. Where you live.
2. Who you're with.
3. What you're doing.

I wish I had people in my life who I could trust to take life advice from. My 'elders' were selfish users and egoistic manipulators who had zero interest in my future.
