Binondo, Divisoria and Quiapo area is always packed to the gills. It's chaotic, busy and I love it! 😅👍

Hi Zane and Bambi. I always enjoy watching your trips and walks. I’m a Filipino immigrant living in U.K. Nice to see how the Philippines look like now from your videos. Inspires me to have an early retirement there. Could you also feature the old part of Manila, like The Intramuros and maybe explore its history. See the museum and show how the old metro Manila is like or maybe even see Rizal Park in Luneta. This Binondo and Quiapo video is a good start. Good to see you two exploring not only the modern BGC and metro Manila’s shopping malls. Keep up the good work.

I grew up as child in the philippines. Eating out in China Town was like a forbidden zone for many filipinos. People said that the Intsik are known for using cat or dog meat in their Siopao, Hopia Baboy and Lumpia. Even today I still rather not eat in Binondo even thou I think it is an urban legend.

That was the most interesting area I visited in Manila, in a good way.

Tutuban Center was like our version of NYC's Grand Central Terminal train station back in the early days. It was the main terminal building of the Ferrocaril de Manila-Dagupan (later Manila Railroad Company, and now Philippine National Railways or PNR) built during the late Spanish/ early American occupation in 1887. It was later gone for disrepair but then rebuilt/ refurbished from its historical Facade and original Brics and Steel foundation and was later repurpose for what it is now (as a Shopping Mall). It's high historical importance saved it from total wreck and redevelopment.

I think mooncake is usually associated to Autumn Chinese festival, also it’s almost Chinese New Year.

How long did you wait in Mezzanine? I always see long lines there whenever I went but I am not sure if it would be more than an hour.

Oldest China Town in the World. I used to go there decades and decades ago when I was still a youngster to eat in tiny chinese restaurants which were basically holes in the wall that dotted the place.
I still go to Binondo Chinatown with my wife, my daughter and my son-in-law for a food crawl at least once a month.
The food places there are really awesome.

I miss the quiapo area, carreido, divisoria..omg...I went to college there in UE so we would go there to shop sometimes with my sister, after classes. I miss the energy, the chaos, and the joy of haggling. LOL!!!

I used to go to Carriedo and shop at Isettan back when o was in college. I don’t think I can go there anymore, it’s too crowded 😂

While I also like Binondo, Divisoria, and other parts of Manila, I think it's unfair to tag these places as the "REAL" Philippines... Philippines is a diverse place...BGC, Makati, Cebu, Aseana, are as "REAL" as the not so developed places in the country as well.

Zane, I just watched your first trip in Manila 2 days ago what a coincident. I am planning to visit Binondo and other old Manila places like Intramuros, Avenida, Recto etc… on my holiday to Philippines. My last time to be there was 45 years ago when I am was a Mapua student.
