I was in Vegas, years ago, and always remember to never reveal or boast if you won in a casino. Now- social media can be very dangerous to post, if you won any significant money, or purchased an expensive piece of jewelry. Social media is so visible to not just friends, but dangerous people. Be careful!!

We’ve had a swarm of bees in Mexico too. They moved them off quickly and safely.

I have never been there, but the State Department gives Papua New Guinea a level 3 advisory:"Reconsider Travel".

We were ON this cruise and actually SAW the bees! We were getting a drink and the workers were looking across the pool and we turned around and saw them and we hurried away and went back inside!

I grew up in Papua New 🇵🇬 Guinea from the age of 5 until 18. It still feels like home, although i haven't been back since 1982. It is a beautiful country.

I was in Valencia last Friday Nov 1st with HAL Oosterdam. We were 3 ships in town. No issue in town with the flooding.

Hi Jason,
I'm actually surprised that there was a knife attack in Rabaul. I initially thought that the attack took place in the capital, Port Moresby, which has more crime than Rabaul. I'm Papua New Guinean and live in Australia. I have family who live PNG and I am always worried about their safety and wellbeing. I grew up in Port Moresby and only moved to Australia in 2006 so am well aware of the law & order and safety issues there. Law and order problems have been a major issue for a very long time. I was in Alotau (another popular cruise port in PNG) this past September on the Diamond Princess (on its repositioning cruise to Australia) and although a safer destination than my hometown of Port Moresby, I personally still felt uneasy and was on alert the whole time we were in port. I'm saddened to hear of this incident as PNG is a beautiful country to visit with amazing flora, fauna, natural beauty and friendly people with a few exceptions (but that's everywhere). I have been on 35 cruises since 2008 and sadly (in my personal opinion), unless you personally know and are visiting someone who lives in PNG, cruising is the safest way to visit there.

About time we in the south got something!! It's always usa focused and Aussies have to go halfway around the world to experience these kinds of things. Very happy royal are doing this. We will book one of the first cruises to their Vanuatu island!!!

Thing to remember about bee swarms is that 99.9% of the time they are incredibly docile. They’ve stuffed themselves full of food before splitting off from the original hive, so they are full, happy, and just looking for a new home. Find a number for your local beekeeper society and someone will come out to grab the free bees!

Flew to Papua New Guinea 10 years ago. Way before cruise ships. Beautiful . We loved the water and nature of the island.
