I was at our local cattle sale barn today. Not my first time at a cattle sale or any auction for that matter. You drove the nail home when you talked about the auctioneer knowing the market and trying to start the bid at that price. I'm in cattle country of NW Missouri. The buyers where just as you described, discret. We're on a 30 acre farm that we own out right. It's half pasture and half really nice mature hard wood timber. I recently started up my own HVAC business that has been a boom. Business has been good. I'm looking to invest in some cattle and had no idea where to start. Thanks to you, I now have an understanding. My perimeter fence is about 90 yrs old and in poor shape. However, with a strand or two of hot wire, I'd be in good shape. At the end of your video you said when in doubt buy some young hefers. I'm guessing, that a finished hefer is more valuable because she can go either way. Sold for butcher or be bred. Great upload. The market for grass fed beef is growing as folk are becoming more health conscious. The Keto community which also includes a growing meat only sector, is now huge and expanding fast as chronic disease is the worst in human history. Folk are cutting out sugar, grains, cereals and those so called vegetable (processed seed) oils, which is good news for the grass fed operations. Many of the Keto community are city folk with little understanding of farming, but they are expressing concern and interest about how they can support and connect with farmers. Keto is huge on the internet, they are well informed about the nutritional benefits of meat, presenting scientific research at seminars across the country. This group is doing a great deal of positive marketing for the grass fed operations, which can only be good news for the continued demand for high quality beef, which should reduce chances of a drop in prices and a expanding market as folk turn away from corn fed operations. I mentioned the Keto community as a possible outlet for those looking for a direct market to sell their product.

I appreciate cattle ranchers because I love eating beef. By far, it is my favorite source of protein, and I image that can be said by most Americans. But I prefer to leave the business of raising cows to those far more knowledgeable. You guys rock!
