The main accused in the clashes here, Barjinder Singh Parwana, was among three people arrested in connection with the violence that had left four people injured, the Punjab Police said on Sunday.
Two groups had clashed on Friday last over an anti-Khalistan march, hurling stones at each other and brandishing swords, forcing police to fire in the air to bring the situation under control.

Parwana, a resident of Rajpura in the district, had allegedly led a mob of agitators from near Khanda Chowk to outside Kali Mata temple and also ensured that the police barricades were uprooted at more than two places to make way for the agitators.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
