It’s really interesting how things follow us like this. Have you ever noticed that a lot of female characters that are pale (and not ginger) usually have associated traits like being ‘weak and delicate’, whereas darker skinned characters, especially if they’re black, are portrayed as ‘strong and independent’? Usually getting more extreme on one end or the other.

very similar to modern day psychological illness and beauty standards. anorexia, bulimia, EDs.

A lot of these woman were beautiful but I’m sure they would have been before they got sick and if they didn’t have that beauty standard

"Sparkling or dilated eyes, rosy cheeks and red lips were also common in tuberculosis patients—characteristics now known to be caused by frequent low-grade fever." (Mullin, 2016)

Women have been victims of crazy beauty standards. I doubt any lady loved herself truly

A moment of silence to any woman who thinks we grew past these atrocities and now we don't do things that harm us to look a little prettier anymore

As someone who was picked on by my family, friends, strangers- for being “too pale” and “almost see through” this strangely makes me feel beautiful seeing all these beautiful women. We are all beautiful in our own ways. ❤

Y'all I love how it says "Romanticized" instead of sexualized. It shows the disgusting beings have become over time.

The standards are completely useless in the end. When visiting asia I always get called beautiful, but in my own country it's ugly to be pale. Got bullied for looking sick. Then there are these changes in history constantly. When you realise that it helps you not to attach any value to such things

Who else remembers the 80's? Twiggy. The norm was to be under size 4. Eating then forcing yourself to vomit it all up. Taking speed or snorting coke to just stay thin.

A friendly reminder that the bmi scale needs to be updated per individual.
I look like a crack head with suken features when im the "correct BMI".
The tole on my body is so severe i suffer from getting sick a lot, constant irritation from it, severe headaches, tooth breakhe from lack of nutrients, dizziness, and was susceptible to many things including mental health.
I ate the anount told and was obviously use to eat. But the hunger never truly stopped.
My stomach would growl after eating those so called healthy portions with snacks in between. My teachers "female plus size", would be concerned because my stomach would growl during class every now and again. A good teacher sat down with me and explained how unhealthy the world is.
It was the start of changing my views.
Ribs dont equal beauty.
Now i have my own weight limit. If it aint hurting me or causing me problems the doctors and the bmi scale can shove it. Being their correct weoght standards hurt more than being what they call plus size.

Do not listen to model beauty and stardom. Remeber yall! Majority of them are on drugs, drink heavy, and smoke heavy. They are also overworked. So you really think there pitcure perfect beauty and skin is real?
Editing, high surgeries, dental makeovers, and more.
Dont covet looking unnaturally beautiful. model looks doesnt exist and if you listen to those models stories on their weight. It is awful! Bullying, forced starvation, binding contracts, and sexualized. Its not pretty.

Idk why healthy is being so skinny you can see the organ of your uterus and stomach poking out. "Flat stomach", they call it.
Girls die over the flat stomach without realizing how wrong we are taught.

Lastly
Girls who are deemed plus size and have the skin ripples they hate and seem "fat" just arent hettinf enough exercise to maintain a toned body. Toned doesnt equal skinny. Infact you can tone yourself to a weight and it prevents loose skin and saggy skin or ripples skin.
You don't have to be a body builder to do so.
