It was originally recorded by Big Joe Turner but gained more success by Bill Haley & His Comets.
Their version was recorded on June 7, 1954 and released in August. It reached #7 on the Billboard pop chart, spending a total of 27 weeks in the Top 40.

Maybe he wasn't iconic like Elvis, Chuck Berry, or Buddy Holly but Bill Haley should get recognition from the early part of rock and roll history.
