Thanks for answering both my questions!! 🙂

My botany knowledge is probably worse than the average person so I’m looking forward to content around that if you feel like making it!

Herbal teas sound like the ultimate merch too!

I lived in your area for a few years, and there are a couple of places you might love if you haven't already heard of them. Friends of the Dunes used to have a California Naturalist program and their guided hike at Lanphere is cool. And Humboldt Herbals used to have an herbalist program.

My neighbor grows the best most potent catnip and she gives me and my fur babies bags of it all the time. They love it!

Congrats on returning to school! 🎉. Looking forward to hearing about that journey! As to the decluttering questions: put good stuff you can’t sell on FreeCycle or we have a Free Bench next our mailboxes. When actually decluttering like you described, I pick zones in a room. But I also pick a project to declutter around. An example is my project to shift to rechargeable batteries 🔋, I wanted to create a little charging center on top of an old metal 4 shelf “inbox” and put it on top of a 2 drawer filing cabinet, behind the computer printer. I also wanted to clear off papers that needed to be filed but were stacking up on top of the printer. So I first decluttered the space behind the printer, then moved the “inbox shelfie thing” to that space and placed it at an angle that I could easily put/sort important papers in the 3 lower shelves. Then I routed 3 kinds of USB-C, USB-micro, & Lightning (apple iPhone & iPad) from the power strip at the back of desk next to filing cabinet. Used a hook on a magnet stuck on metal inbox to bunch charging cords together & out of way. Then cleared off papers on top of printer & sorted in shelves. Put the AA/AAA charging dock and ham radio docking station on top of inbox (both use a USB-micro connector). Put the package of rechargeable AA batteries up there when I came across them in the room. When finished setup there was a cleared location to recharge my phones, tablets, kindle, rechargeable lights & fans, radios, battery banks, and anything else that needs charging, everything out of the way. Letter I filed the papers from shelves into filing cabinet when I had the energy. A month or two later it’s still working. 🙃

Yay, thank you for answering my questions! I will continue to prioritize shopping in person at local thrift stores versus online thrifting.

Thank you for answering my question! Will have to check the suggestions out. And I do like getting a good shirt from the thrift and resale shops around here :) Best of luck in school!

So funny that you mentioned finding second hand size 11 shoes, this is SO difficult for me. The only way I can do it most of the time is finding them online. It can just be so much time and effort going through thrift stores to never find shoes (or long enough pants for me) in my size! I much prefer FB marketplace, Poshmark or Depop!

Yesss use that GI bill 👏🏽 I was going to do forest ecosystem management but didn’t want to go to my school’s main campus (more money for fewer resources, less community for my culture, needing something more inside for my disability), so I stayed at the same campus for marketing! I interned at the National Zoo and landed in disability justice (shoutout to basic training for my first diagnosed disability). Best of luck and USE YOUR BENNIES. 2024 was also my first few year out. 💚

I started trying to buy second hand where I live but most people price things so expensively 😫 There are some bargains tho. I found Luguis Mansion 2 for the 3DS for 5 bucks, instead of having to buy the switch one for like $60.

I'm excited to hear about your journey in your botany degree. Sounds so interesting and so much fun.

Lastly, I know I heard you talk about thinking about doing a research on Pela in one of your videos because you suspect them of greenwashing (I don't remember wich video 😅). I wanted to say I would to watch it. I been eyeing them up to buy I case but I feel iffy for some reason.

I love the glee you showed when you described a medicinal tea shop. One of my fantasy lives is to have a used bookstore/tea store/cat adoption center.

Sometimes the "small" local brand is actually really well known. I found out that Simple Modern is a local brand for me which is doubly nice since from my research their "Stanley" tumblers are more in line with my preference

I wonder if anyone else has run into the issue I have with voting. This is specifically for the non presidential election. But often times in this very rural area of Kentucky there is only 1 person on the ballot. And they belong to the party that I cannot support because they've all gone insane. So there literally is no one to vote for. Of course I could write in some one, But That's an exercise and futility. It would be nice if we had choices and environmentally responsible candidates to select but that isn't going to Happen here anytime soon

To the person that’s in the hoarding situation & trying to get out of it:

I’m also there. I’m a level 1 or level 2 hoarder, and it sucks, my dude. I’m lucky that my partner is supporting and helping me a LOT since I’m disabled & unmedicated ADHD in a soul-sucking job, and he pretty much said “the environment isn’t your problem right now. You need and deserve to live in a safe, comfortable, cute, and accessible apartment, and to do that we’re going to be throwing away a LOT of stuff.” That was kinda rough to work through, but it’s helped SO much. I only put together donate boxes if I know 10000% sure I’m going to a thrift store in the next 24 hours or someone will pick it up via buy nothing groups in 24 hours. Spoiler alert: a lot of stuff gets tossed. When I’m in a better situation, I can re-evaluate my lower waste lifestyle, but for now, that’s not my problem, nor is it yours. Just get yourself to a better place however it needs to happen.
