My thought on hearing the question was that it was some sort of board game which previously used a metal figurine for the 'bank' game piece, but switched to a flat cardboard token to reduce cost. (My first though was 'Monopoly', but then I remembered that while that game *does* have both a bank and little tokens for buildings, the buildings are houses and hotels, with the bank not being a piece on the game board at all.)

My main knowledge of roller derby is that Silver Age Lois Lane used her training in the Kryptonian martial art of klurkor to fight and evil roller-derby team, because the Silver Age was like that (Lois being good at violence didn't start there, though, she was a dangerous fighter even in the late 1930s).

I'm mostly familiar with the banked tracks from the 1975 movie Rollerball, which has the future dystopian blood sport with aspects of roller derby, among other things.
