Yeah this movie caught me off guard. I just thought it would be a bonkers ride (which it definitely was) but it was SO much more. The balance of humor, action, exploration of family/generational dynamics and heartfelt message was astounding. As great as I found it, I know it won't be everyones cup of tea but I also can't help but recommend it to everyone. Great review, look forward to more.

Excellent review per usual, Elliot! This film was absolutely batshit crazy in all of the best ways. I loved it. It’s one of the most memorable, enjoyable, funny and downright entertaining movie experiences I’ve had in recent memory.

I just left the theater. This is the first time in years I’ve felt like I needed time to digest a movie. I was numb when I left the theater. Unbelievable movie.

I feel fortunate to have been alive to see this movie. I don’t think I’ve ever reacted so viscerally to a film since The Matrix or Requiem for a Dream. Once in a lifetime cinematic experience.

Honestly the only reason why I seen this movie is because I got a job recently and my interviewer told me it was his favorite movie. I instantly fell in love with this movie and these actors. The costume designs made my smile spread so wide and it also made me look deep at the decisions I’ve made in my life. I want to watch it over and over again.

I think it was the most engrossing films I’ve experienced in theaters since Kill Bill Vol.1 and I will go to the theaters and watch again. Staggeringly imaginative.

I walked out of the theater thinking Everything Everywhere was like if Kung Fu Hustle, Michel Gondry, and Bjork had a baby, it was so bonkers, and I’m calling it as the most imaginative and unique film to come out all year. The score by Son Lux was also stellar. For me I think 20 minutes could’ve been trimmed from the movie, but I wouldn’t say it was one particular scene vs another, more that all the scenes in generally could’ve use tighter editing.

I saw this movie the other day. This movie was such breath taking. Visuals were great & story line was so emotional. Hotdog & racconcoonie worlds were soo funny. One of the best multiverse films out there. Better than doctor strange 2 in my opinion

Your review is the antidote to all the passionless movie reviews on Youtube. Kudos to your energy, thoughtfulness, and joy talking about this movie. Great review.

Michelle Yeoh is an icon. I've been excited to see this for a while but for some reason I thought it was a series or limited series? Lol anyway, I really want to watch it!! Waiting for it to hit a theater near me, or a streaming service.

This movie made me laugh, cry and think. Superb acting by everyone. Elizabeth’s costumes were awesome. My negatives are that it was a bit too long and was a little too out there for me

Way to be an early adopter, but did you ever think one year later it’d be looking at 11 Oscar nominations?!

This film is like a fever dream of all my favorite things— sci-fi, comedy, jaw, dropping creativity, , incredible performances, tearjerking moments that don’t make you hate everything, as distinct from Bambi) but I for one had no idea that the praise would be so universal, mainstream, and widespread (including because my family members could not deal lol).

Great review. I will definitely see this film. BYW: Stephanie Hsu [4:40] is in that DiscoverCard ad “It’s CASHBACK MATCH PEOPLE!”. Also in the AT&T ad with the giant foam hands. I think she’s done standup also.

Loved your review. I agree with 99.9% of what you said. But I actually loved the ending, and it didn't seem a minute too long. I'm Asian American so, of course, some things MAYBE resonated with me slightly more than for non Asians...but I absolutely think everyone will get everything. I wanted to see this movie, but it took me months...just after New Year's. I had few expectations...was just interested. OMG, my wife and I and the audience was howling, laughing, crying, silently stunned. I kept thinking throughout, "Who comes up with some of these ideas?" and "How the heck were they able to take all those little bits and make a cohesive whole?" and maybe most important "How were they able to craft a mind blowing adventure with crazy ideas and visuals, and still make a STORY anyone could understand and LOVE?" I've become obsessed with it. And I wonder how you feel about it almost a year later?

Fun fact about Michelle Yeoh: she's married to Jean Todt, former F1 CEO

I enjoyed it so much. I described it to friends as Kung Fu Hustle meets Joy Luck Club meets Scott Pilgrim. So much fun humor, beautiful fight choreography, so much heart. Loved it all around.

Was not prepared how hard this film hits on it's serious topics and definitely could feel the feels. The Hallway fight screen with Joy shows the true power reality and clearly out did the infinity stones. Also a better multiverse movie then doctor strange and a fantastic Kung Fu film on top of everything.
