The Hunter Harrison Memorial Bridge: A New Pedestrian Bridge at the University of Memphis
Показать описание
This Snack & Learn Webinar is for project managers, engineers, architects and planners. Join us to learn how this cable-stay pedestrian bridge was built to improve pedestrian safety on a university campus.
Pedestrian bridges are a great option for improving safety at road and rail crossings. In 2014, the University of Memphis began planning the expansion of their southern campus. Since this new development and existing campus were separated by a heavily-trafficked freight rail corridor, a new pedestrian bridge therefore became a central component of that plan. In this webinar, we will discuss the need for the bridge and how the unique geometry of this signature structure inspired innovative solutions to structural design and constructability challenges.
Presenters:
Dennis Smith - Structural Engineer, WSP USA
Steven Lowinger - Structural Engineer, WSP USA
