So glad I saw this! New to hobby and bought two fancies without knowing about cycling. Was getting tired of these frequent water changes and was starting to think I bit off more than I could chew especially when the ammonia was at the same levels after the water change. Ammo lock by API isn't doing anything. Gonna buy these two products tonight and try this week 🤞🏽

Hi! I’m just looking at your videos, just found all the great information you provide. Thanks! I started cycling my new fish tank a week ago, I put fish in today, should I put bacteria? I have other products, I’ll get the ones you recommend but meanwhile, would you recommend putting bacteria now that I have fish? Thanks!

How many weeks passed before you did your first water change

It’s actually recommended to add one or two fish in the beginning to help cycle the tank. You don’t have to but adding the fish will help add that ammonia and bacteria as well

New tank cycled for 5 weeks before putting fish in. Put 3 tiny fish in, 2 mollies and a fancy guppy. I have been dosing prime and stability for like the whole time. Had a ammonia spike and did a 10 percent water change last week and ammonia has been fine since but nitrite is high, somewhere between.5 and 1 ppm. I have been over dosing prime 5x but it's hardly moving the needle on the nitrite levels. Any suggestions? Was advised not to do a heavy water change yet as still trying to establish the biological filter, thoughts?

Hey Kev, I just recently found your channel and I’m so glad I did. Hubby went looking for dog supplies one day and walked out of the pet store with 2 betta’s! He asked tons of questions and still got terrible advice. Was told they don’t need filter or heaters 😬🙄 and two itty bitty…could barely call it a “tank””housing units”. Fast forward to a week after having the fish, and my new larger but still Nano tanks arrived. Now I had to Fish-in cycle, so not knowing about stability I had bought nutrafin cycle. I’m regretting that as I’ve been reading a lot of comments saying nutrafin and many other bottled bacteria isn’t able to create a sustainable cycle? That you have to keep adding it so the cycle doesn’t crash? Is Seachem Stability better for that? Sorry, complete newbie here to actual care and maintenance (parents had fish when I was a kid).

I’m about 11 days into cycling these 2 tanks and used the nutrafin cycle as directed for my size tanks and there seems to be minimal result? I am using the prime conditioner as I saw that recommended all over the place 😅. I just saw your video on no water changes and dosing daily with prime and I thought genius ❤. Should I ditch the nutrafin and get some stability? Or stick with it? Help 😅 I don’t want my fish to die.
