Powering the Galaxie is a professionally built 390 cubic inch V8 motor mated to a 4 speed manual transmission. The 390 was professionally bored over .30 by Roush Racing with the supporting documents. The Galaxie was a full sized sedan that was built by Ford from 1959 to 1974. The Galaxie 500 and Galaxie 500XL were upmarket trims that bordered on Mercury and Lincoln levels of features and luxury. The newer 1965 models featured redesigned suspension as well as new styling and interior features. A variety of I6 and V8 engines were available as was a variety of body styles.
