After reading your comments I wanted to cover the spacing on the overhead attack.

To start with, whilst you are getting a feel for it. Always go further away and work your way closer, so you don't die whilst learning.

Study my position in the video as it's hard to describe and you will need to get a feel for it.

If you feel like you are too far, start holding your parry earlier to slow your movement down.

If you feel like you are too close, delay your parry to maximise speed.

If you feel like you are super close, jump and then parry to maximise the distance you cover.

i dont understand, when i get that close to him for parry, i get hit with splash dmg on his downswing. is that new? how do I counter that?

how come when i go for the parry from the main attack, aoe damage hits me?

ill be honest. most of these guides for dark and darker lack a lot of precise detail before people take 100s of losses doing these bosses. think about the description of how you make a peanut butter jelly sandwich. you're missing like 3/4 of the steps. spacing, where you're strafing, where exactly to point and what moment instead of the wrong moment. what to do if you cant parry in while in bad spacing so your only option is to dodge, how can you dodge lots of guides talk about verbal qs but mute the gameplay. its not bad but theres no way this guide helped me.

is this guide a troll? Whats your movement speed man because i'm just getting straight up clapped. even using sprint as a fighter i can't move out of the way of his attacks in time. Please can you give us some details on your stats. Movement speed in particular

Dude, I'm doing something wrong, I've seen your video several times and tried to run it but it's always very different from what you show.
When I stay at the distance you show in the video he screams, if I get too close I can't dodge his first hit like you show, and he always does a different attack that I can't parry. I'll try more often :(

So straight up this method has a 50% chance the troll does a low sweep or high attack after the 1st low left sweep. I have tried it a lot and it makes it feel real rough to try to parry and wait if you get bad luck on his 2nd swing

Maybe the left and right methods are better depending on your range. You have to be a distance away to punish left while daggers might go right
