When Ferrari engineers set to work on their ultimate mid-engined 'baby' supercar, the Ferrari 430 Scuderia was born. In the process, new technology was developed and lessons learnt which all contributed to making the next-generation Ferrari 458 Italia a world-beating supercar. The 430 Scuderia was the first Ferrari with its traction and stability systems fully integrated with its rear electronic differential, featuring adjustable settings via the steering wheel manettino. With 508bhp it still feels hugely fast and it's more visceral than the 458.

I've driven both cars too and tracked the Scud at Road America. The Scud has a more raw feel to it versus the 458, even though the 468 has more power and another gear. Tracking & visceral feel- the Scuderia all the way; if you don't want to have the loud shrieking of the exhaust note and a bit more in creature comfort- you'd go the route of the 458.

Great review. I don't doubt that this is really the ultimate V8 street Ferrari at this time, and that the rising market values speak for them selves, but you cant help but feel the closing statement was a little contrived. Perhaps throwing in the investment angle was a precondition to DL loaning the Scud to Autocar?

Any car with the magical hand and mind of the Legendary Michael Schumacher MUST be great, and this car does not disappoint. I owned a 360 CS, but the road comfort, (or lack thereof, ) and brakes left me wanting a better, more focused car. The 430 Scuderia is a VERY good car, thanks to the Maranello Magicians. I smile just knowing I am going for a spin round town in mine. Great video! Cheers!

Much like the RS Porsches, it's a track weapon. Have driven one, but you can't really daily drive it or take it on long road trips. If you live near Silverstone, then get one. Now. It's now April 2020 in the middle of Covid19 and these are now going for £160k or more.
