This was the original Dragonborn song. The song you hear in the menu is the second song. (Same song, different melody) The lyrics to this song were always there, but over time, the melody was lost. So, the present day Nords improvised, and made their own melody, and that’s why the Sovngarde theme and the Dragonborn theme have the same lyrics, but different melody.

No game will ever give me the same feels Skyrim did the first time i visited Sovngarde. I can only describe it as pure gloriousness.

I wish after defeating Alduin you can tell Paarthunax to gather the rest of the dragon, we're going to the imperial city and start a new empire. With dragons. That should give the thalmor something to fear.
