He made the mistake of believing that everyone and everything in the world was as cynical and hateful as himself.

Apart from grossly underestimating Zelenskyy and the determination of the Ukrainian people, he also underestimated just how fast the rest of Eastern/Central Europe would come to Ukraine's aid. He did not expect the former Warsaw pact countries, who basically used to be Russia's vassals, to aid Ukraine so quickly. But the Poles, the Czechs, the Slovaks all have their own experiences with Russian expansionism and they have *not* forgotten.

The more we get to know people from Ukraine, the more we in the EU ( or at least speaking for myself), come to appreciate them and realize howmuch we are alike.

The fact that this quality of video is available for free truly amazes me. Thank you for your dedication and generosity!

Well, considering the guy called Steven Seagall "the real deal" it's not the only bad call he's made...

Vlad,
This far into the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, it's good to have someone like you help us all step back and remind ourselves of the salient facts. Doing so using the theme of Putin's mistakes really brings clarity once again to the whole disaster. We often tire of conflicts as they rage on and we lose perspective and the willingness to see through our fatigue to the clearer reality. We lose focus. This video restores our vision, and helps us to press on regardless, just as the brave and determined people of Ukraine continue to do. Thanks. We needed this.

Putin also didn't reckon with a world that hates bullying.

He operates in this "gopnik" mentality. They always get away with what they do, until there is a professional boxer which he mistakenly read as computer nerd

Putin also thought he could easily suppress the Ukrainians as he could do with his own people. But the Ukrainians said, no, we are no going to accept that. And if we have to die for it. Be it! And i cry whilst writing this. Cry in the face of such bravery. Slava Ukraini! Слава Україні!

Thank you very much for another just awesome video!

I remember a friend of mine saying that there is nothing more destructive for a person than to start believing their own bullshit. It's also true for countries.
Always keep check on reality... Even if you don't admit it right away.

I am an American who moved to Ukraine six years ago and I sent this video to my friends and family back in the States to help them to understand what's really going on with this war. The majority of the western analysts I have listened to tend to explain what's happening and why by looking at what would make western democracies do what Putin has done and make the Russians accept it all so passively. You (Vlad) do such a wonderful job of touching on the psychological and cultural drivers of what's going on in Russia so that people can see that Putin and your average Russian thinks very different than people and leaders in the West.

Excellent. Great that you highlight these tricky concepts that people outside of post soviet countries otherwise would most likely not ever come in touch with. As Ukrainian I thank you deeply.

Dear Vlad, just keep it coming, mate! Your content gives me a sense of enlightenment and pride. Eastern European States are NOT chips on a poker game. They are flourishing and beautiful nations. Europeans have decided to leave their imperialistic past behind and to work together towards a better future and Vlada Vladimirovich apparently didn't receive the news.

This was one of your most brilliant yet, sir! You managed to build upon the foundation you’ve laid out in earlier videos and streams, and then layered everything so beautifully. This type of reason and logic, supported by both facts on the ground and the historical record, makes you one of the greats. We are truly blessed to have your insight during this historical time 💚

Thanks, Vlad! How horrible it is to think that our minds might come to work the same way as Putin’s: to take anything and everything as a confirmation of our beliefs.
