I strongly disagree with the teaching in this video. Firstly it is very important to place the limb lead electrodes on first and connect up the wires as you’ll then get an idea of the rhythm the patient is in(they may be in a sinister rhythm like VT or something). Secondly ALWAYS count down to the 4th intercostal space from the sternal angle SO YOU DON’T MISS COUNT spaces. I can do up to 80 ECG’s a day in my job and VERY rarely will anyone have discomfort on palpating the sternum if care is taken!!!
