STRAWBERRY GRANITA: refreshing and tasty!

Показать описание
INGREDIENTS
500ml (2 cups) of water
150g (3/4 cup) of sugar
Juice of 1 lemon
450g (about 3 1/2 cups) of strawberries (weighed without stems)
Fresh mint leaves for decoration, to taste
METHOD
1. In a saucepan, combine the water and sugar, bring to a boil, and stir continuously until you get a syrup. Let it cool.
2. Remove the stems from the strawberries, place them in a tall, narrow container, and blend using an immersion blender.
3. Strain the puree through a fine mesh sieve into a bowl, add the lemon juice and the cooled syrup, and stir with a spoon.
4. Transfer the mixture into a wider container (not deep), and place it in the freezer.
5. Every 30 minutes, take the granita out and stir well with a whisk to break up the ice crystals.
6. Once you get a thick, slushy consistency (this will take about 4 hours), divide the granita into individual glasses and garnish with a mint leaf.
