A big positive is that Carlos seems to understand what is wrong with a car. He seems to be able to communicate it well with his engineers which I think will be very helpful for the team.

Carlos maybe is not as talented as Max or Charles (my opinion), but is smarter than most of the grid and has an understanding of how the car works better than an usual f1 driver. He is a very good asset to any team. He is a very good fit to Albon, very chill personalities. If Williams don't perform this years it is not the drivers fault, they are both way better than the car they have

Carlos is built for this move, I just hope Williams can make improvements F1 needs Williams to be competitive

I would imagine being a top 5 driver who doesnt crash every race would make a big difference for williams especially after last year.

They might actually have money to develop their car over 2025 and have enough left over to build a car for 2026.

The reported 60 million from Santander is huge as well. I'm sure Red Bull is kicking themselves if that number is true.

No wonder Red Bull didn't want him. Max's setup is all based on oversteer. He would have struggled like Perez.

Carlo Sainz is Carlo Science, he surely will adopt the Williams car well.

It still boggles my mind that people think Carlos was a good fit for Red Bull. He and Max could not have more different driving styles, I can only guess most people just do not know this. Sky barely talk it.

good video but "peaky" means that the optimal performance window is narrow and not that the car tends towards oversteer.

Adaptable, fast, hard working, technical. A team down the grid really can't ask for anything more, what a signing. Maybe he lacks the absolute pace of someone like Leclerc or Max, but honestly for a Williams driver thats not going to be an issue in the forseeable future. Imo he will absolutely trounce pretty much anyone in a comparable car - the likes of Sauber, Haas, Alpine, even Aston will find it very hard to live with him. Not to mention his ability to identify issues with the car and communicate that clearly with the engineers, an absolute god send for a team like Williams trying to make a push up the grid. As someone with a long time massive soft spot for Williams, I'm very excited to see how they do next year and going into the new regs.

My guess is that Carlos will heavily influence the direction the team take the car in next year. I expect they will focus on driveability, and moving the car to a more understeery setup, to get the most out of him. I imagine he already gave them direction at the end of season test in AD.

I feel like Carlos is a really good development type of driver. He’s someone that can give such a good feedback and understands the technical side of things to help a team grow and improve. I feel like William might be the perfect place for him because of his skill set And I feel like he could be the driver to bring them back to being a successful team. I definitely think Alex is going to have his work cut out for him but I think Alex has thrown a lot of commitment to Williams and that he definitely is a good driver, and they will keep the team pairingof him and Carlos as long as they can

Great content! However, I have to disagree a bit. Sainz and Alonso aren't the only drivers that prefer understeer. Along with Hamilton, who you mentioned, the likes of Checo, Ocon and Magnussen thrive more with an understeery car

I think we need to remember that the 22 23 24 ferraris were always on the edge. Carlos must have learned a lot in terms of taming unstable beasts
