Best road trip song ever ! My husband of 50 years was exactly the man in the song. He was awesome. The kids and I chose this song to send him off on his next journey to be an angel in heaven. We sang it loud as he was taken away. He passed 11 weeks ago. Cheers to you!

Every time I have a bad day, I watch this video of two casually dressed blokes singing one of the most iconic songs with a crowd singing with them... Makes me happy again

I'm not Scottish but I feel proud to be Scottish after this song.

Imagine having a song that's almost 20 years old, that has that much power over a crowd of 50, 000 people where they'd dance like that. And i'm getting chills 15 years after watching it.

What must it be like knowing you've written a song that's brought so much enjoyment and pleasure to so many people?

In these times this is the perfect definition of the real man that sacrafices in his labors to keep his family. Most men walk those miles everyday for their woman and children, with real love, no resentment or judgment. This is certainly a message worth proclaimming.

I sent this to my sister over a decade ago when she had cancer. Cheered her up so much, I credit it with her cure. Now I'm self-quarantined coronavirus-style, and it's cheering me up. If I survive, I'll credit them again. Love me them Scots.

You’ve made it big when 50, 000 people know every word and sing along with you. Awesome

This song is a love song, a drinking song, a marching song, a motivational song and a de facto national anthem all rolled into one. No wonder it is so bloody huge.

No phones no cameras, just thousands of people jumping up and down and enjoying the music!

I wish I could rewind time to those simple days!

I'm a Sassanech but my mum was Sottish so my heart and love has always been with the Scot's, a great people with a fantastic sense of humour and thet have been treated diabolically over the years but are a truly great nation in their own right ... This song is fantastic and these guys are great and should I come to Scotland I hope and pray they'd accept me !!!
