We all have our reasons for riding eBikes, some of us have to and some of us want to. But do we even need to give a reason? Following Neil's video on GMBN Steve and Neil felt it was necessary to talk about some of the comments regarding the reasons for riding eMTBs. Steve talks to some fans of the channel to find out why they ride electric mountain bikes specifically.

I don’t ride an E-MTB, but in 2023 I bought my wife an Orbea Rise, I’m not fast (at 59), but I’m faster than my wife; her riding an E-MTB allows us to ride together, I can go at the pace I enjoy, and she keeps up no problem.

For the epic adventures they bring to my life. At 64 and still racing DH what a weapon for keeping me at the top of my fun factor. 🎉❤

Guys, don’t forget the added bonus of all those chats and banter you can have on the way back up the hill on a emtb Some great times had !

I’ve been riding for years, I hated eMTB’s, then I tried one, then I bought one, best thing I’ve ever bought. I was wrong about them.

I'm 54 and been mountain biking for the last ten years. I got my first emtb last year and it's the most fun I've had on a bike I can go on great adventures and ride terrain I wouldn't have rode before also ride for much longer 👍

I love my EMTB. We are having an absolute ball here in Keswick with the current winter conditions. 😉

Im 62, doing rides that would have killed me at 18, but its important to accept you dont have quite the same balance and reactions anymore.

42 and haven't riden properly for 6 years. I have a nice clean car I want to keep that way and would need to ride out to my trails... these are a few reasons I'm considering a emtb

Been riding racing mtb all my life. Now 50, worn out knees and multiple back surgeries… i have my first ebike and its a game changer. It greatly reduces my overall pain when done riding. Strive On.

I ride mainly XC and trail in the UK. Got my first e-bike this year at the age of 36. I have done far more riding on this bike than I ever did on my old bikes. I just really look forward to going out on it. Even if I am feeling a bit crap (After a few beers) I can go out for an hour or so and use a higher setting, and you feel so much better just for getting out. I have an Orbea Rise H30 :)

I used to walk the hills, but lost my fitness and his is a way to combine riding and experiencing the hills and build one's fitness back up.

I’m 59yr, I love my 2024 Orbea wild, I got it march last year, it allows me to continue to do my awesome hobby. If that upsets others. I’m not sorry. It’s for me. Wish I did it years ago!!!!

My reasons for not being on eMTB are: I like my bike simple as possible while fullfiling my needs and I don't have needs that motor would help with at the moment.

Hey Guys George here, love your show, I’ve just ordered my new e-bike I currently ride a epic *expert with flight attendant on buuut I’ve only been riding about 3 months and I love all the riding but prefer technical rides and here in South Africa there’s no shuttle services or tow lines every trail is a massive ride too get to the technical ridges and a e-bike will make a huge 😂
speed improvement and allow me to get to the flow/Jump Line without being flat down tiered as a example I jetty went to a trail called Toroko and the flow line jump line is 6km away from the start . By the time I get there I’m exhausted with the broke I’m sure ill have allot more energy to ride the line, by the ways Specialized gen 4 turbo Levo (waiting with massive anticipation)

NO apologies needed. I'd buy one in a heartbeat.

I bought my first EMTB when I was diagnosed as type 2, because long sustained rides were the only thing that kept my blood sugar low and my MTB didn't give me the fun factor to do that.

As my condition got worse I biked more and more and further on my EMTB trying to keep my blood sugar in check as the medication stopped working.

Fast forward 2 years, I was fit as hell but getting worse. I was finally diagnosed as type 1 and put on insulin.

I honestly dread to think what would have happened to me if I hadn't gone on all those EMTB days out.

I love my EMTBs

I’ve now been e biking for about 10 years now people who say you don’t get a workout haven’t got a clue after about 1hr 15 doing the dog n monkey at Cannock chase my under T shirt is a wet soggy T shirt so you definitely get a workout
And at 57 I’m still loving going out on my E BIKE at various riding centres

When I got on my first Haibike all those years ago it instantly put a 😊on my face and I thought yep that’s what mountain biking is all about and never looked back

Ps Steve when do I need to get to my Specialized shop for the gen 4 levo🤪

I'm 55 and ride an HT, and I still have a great time riding it. I would like to switch to an emtb, but I can't afford it at this time. Along with the maintenance of an emtb/fs. For now, I will continue to ride my Banshee Paradox and continue to have fun.
