1:41 (goal posts) were again 8 ft or 2.4m apart
Correct width for 1863 was 8 yards or 7.3m, which is the same as in today's game.

I interpret the 1863 offside rule differently. Even if no player from your team may be ahead of you, you could still kick the ball ahead and across and wait for your mates to catch up. Not as boring as strict backward passing. As for the field size, those numbers given here were the maximum. That doesn't mean fields as "small" as ours today weren't common.

I think they should add the 2 and 3 points rules like basketball currently have today. If you score a long shoot like between the centre circle and the penalty area, the points should be 2 not 1.

I just found out shin guards are mandatory nowadays. I always wondered how players do not get injured and how they are able to keep a low injury rate. I got used to basketball where there are usually no such protective gear requirements. Most common injuries are ankle sprains, knee injuries from stiffly slipping, running, jumping, and physical contact, sometimes catastrophic, and such
