We’re drawing closer to a strike deadline on Sept. 14 as United Auto Workers members remain at odds with the Big Three over double-digit pay increases, eliminating a two-tier wage system, a 32-hour work week and better benefits. The UAW is confirming strike authorization votes are ongoing at their local unions and now, a new video singles out a Ford Motor Co. worker who says she’s fighting for more. The fourth generation worker, Sara Schambers, says it’s becoming increasingly harder to make ends meet.

It is honestly SCANDALOUS that these corporations can now decide to declare a 'critical status' and force Workers to work 12h/day 7 days a week!!

THAT ALONE should be enough grounds to STRIKE IMMEDIATELY!! 😤😤😤😤

But of course, the current contract allows this... WHICH IS WHY THIS STRIKE IS ABSOLUTELY VITAL!! 😤😤😤😤

If the UAW gets some of these union demands from the Detroit 3, Toyota and Honda and all the other transplants will have to pay their workers the same else their workers will finally organize with the UAW....I bet the foreign car makers are worried sick about how this will affect them too.👏👏👏👏👏👏

The outcome will be elimination of tiers, $8 raises over 4 years, and rise in company match for the 401k. The pensions will not come back. They should be concerned about their healthcare more than wages. That’s my prediction. 32 hour work week definitely not happening.

Here’s my prediction: UAW strikes, OEMs eventually concede, they ratify, more jobs and production eventually goes to Mexico.

Striding through regardless? Wonder if he will make the same pay in Mexico? Not just blue collar jobs are on the line but so are white collar workers

Can someone enlighten me on how you have a strike vote while still working under old contract . Has the company already submitted a last best new contract proposal . Help me understand .

in the mean time Tesla will keep selling cars and the legacy automakers will blame the union

Y'all are acting like UAW WANTS a strike no matter what. WRONG. If the Big 3 make concessions and simply offer them a FAIR contract, there's no reason to strike.

But no, instead of that, Stellantis has proposed an unbelievable unfair contract, with even more concessions, even less assurances, ...

Strange how you don't point that out. Talking about throwing it in the bin and be outraged about that, but not be outraged about the CONTENT of that proposed contract, tells us all we need to know.
