Navigation Plotting is an essential skill for working in the maritime industry. This video is an introduction to some of those concepts. If you've spent lots of time on the water, but have not pursued a professional license, you should consider yourself a candidate for an Operator of Uninspected Passenger Vessels (OUPV) 6-Pack license. This license allows you to charter vessels with up to 6 paying passenger and is the first step to a career in the maritime industry, full-time or part-time!

This man is a great teacher. I've never learned well from books, the steps never seem to line up in my head, but when this gentleman teaches anything about navigation it makes perfect sense.

At the beginning I didn't know anything about navigation. However by the end I know how to calculate how far, at what speed, and how long it took me. It did help I knew the words he used.

Thanks for the video.

The best, clearest and cleanest explanation.
I'm not a navigator but this is helpful in any ship navigation technology designer.
Yes please, a video on tide and currents, speed through water and speed over ground in radar, wind and current effects on ship STW and SOG

This is an amazing amount of information presented in such a masterful way of teaching. Pretty much everything anyone needs to know about chart plotting with the exception of Course To Steer, which Captain Dave Medeiros presents on another excellent video.
