GBRS Group- High ready VS Low ready

preview_player
Показать описание
DJ covers the controversial topic of high ready vs low ready as we cover why we like the elevated risers on our carbines. We believe that the optic riser allows the end user to be in a better overall body position. It allows for more situational awareness processing and presenting body armor to the threat in an upright posture.

Carbine- Bravo Company
barrel- 11.5 Proof research
Sling- GBRS Group (SBS)
Riser- Unity Tactical
Optic- Aimpoint T2
Laser- L3 NGAL.

Thanks for sharing, lads. Am a Marine infantryman but I always pay close attention when a SEAL agrees to share their knowledge. Thanks again.

Thanks DJ! Being 6'4 I'm always feeling like I had to lower my eyes to the weapon. I put a riser on an old optic and tried this out. HUGE difference!! Many thanks!!

Full circle. Back to the Mog days then they had optics on carry handles.

Cheek weld is a thing of the past, so now we are back to placing the sights were they were over the carry handles. In the past.

This has made sense to me for a long time but I kept being told "You need a good consistent cheek weld." I was told the cheek weld could also function as a reference point for consistent shots. It makes me feel a little bit vindicated seeing this change and having guys like you, who would be the ones to know, using and promoting a heads up posture.

This dude is a real life super hero, these DEVGRU warriors should def have their own action figures or TV show.
Seriously, def the kinda role models young kids should have these days, much better than those moronic, talentless YouTube and tictoc influencers.

It's about time the community is moving foward with a more upright heads up stance when it comes to CQB and more people are starting to see its benefits because guys with real world experience are starting to call out alot of BS that's being taught out there.
I was never I fan of the exaggerated hunched over, buttstock closed in, hyper extended support arm grip that was taught by dudes like Costa and alot of other internet charlatans that was all the rage 10 years ago.
Thank you 🤙

Thank Whatever GOD is real for DJ COVERING THIS TOPIC, I RAN INTO THIS METHOD 5YRs ago or so BUT I JUST SAW SOME OLD RETIRED DELTA GUY BASHING ONE OR THE OTHER WHEN USING THIS METHOD (The Guys) ARGUMENT IS IRRELEVANT/IRRATIONAL when using a riser. And just for the record (DELTA/DEVGru both did high ready then in the 1990s some instructor either got shot or almost got shot on the cat walk so they made the Tier 1 teams go to low ready literally just because the instructors on the cat walk. But a hand full of delta went back to a high ready in 2006 era because they preferred gravity assist. But then the argument that a high ready blocks visibility when it’s honestly irrelevant. If you are in a high ready or low and not presented that would mean you are not in a position to fire the gun in the first place. I only stay in a high or low to keep from muzzle swiping someone in front of me. If I have someone in front of me I can’t fire any ways. I just don’t have a problem seeing around my gun in a high ready (which was this guys argument) the angle I hold the weapon I never seem to block my view. But I do train both ways and I don’t really have a preference anymore it’s whatever I feel like in the moment. I think being flexible is better than ocd where if you can’t be in a certain position your brain just shuts down. Hah which btw I literally have seen people if the range doesn’t allow high ready because the cat walk they literally melt and start sucking on a thumb. I think everybody should be proficient at high and low while feeling natural in both.
