Depends on the venue for a sub. Most DJs wont need it with these, but the salesmen in u 2 is pushing for that sub 🤣🤣

They say that 12” have a good throw compared to a 15” where as the 15” give a good low end but the throw ain’t as good as 15” so if u use a 12” u need a sub woofer which will be a great combo having a better detail correct me if I’m wrong

Did you change the settings in the back to "no sub?"

Serious note, What i don't understand is how you can plug your phone into an 1/8in jack and expect high fidelity? I knew when i bought mine that to properly test the unit i needed a much more pure source, vinyl, controller, cdj or audio-interface through at least 1/4 if not XLR or speakon. How are you not educated on the products you sell? This is why my local guitar center lets me down.

I hear the DJ's put in Dance Mode with submode on. Wondering how a pair of these would stack up against a pair of EV Evolve 50's. What do you think?

Never allow anyone at guitar center and especially this dude to recommend music to you.
Good grief.
And what kinda dance moves were those. The bass line hadn't even kicked in yet and you were trying to move.

The original K speakers have more bass than the K.2’s. If anything, they absolutely need a sub. If you are a performer, get the originals. If you DJ and use a sub, get the k.2’s for the improved clarity.

no one told them they didn't need a sub, they just wanted to make this video to sell subs

Lol one thing he was right about is yes you do need a sub specially if you are looking for that deep bass below 36hz
Bass hits different notes and not all subs can do that so make sure you get a quality sub dont just check the specs test it out yourself
Pair it up with QSC subs even one will do and you will have one amazing system.

I just purchased one of these and the mids and highs are crisp and loud buttt you def need a sub. Im using two yorkvilles ls700p and its sound fantastic.

it depends on what you want to use it for. It's plenty good for background music or microphone amplification. In a smaller room, up to about 50 people are fine without a sub. if you want techno for 50-150 people, you need two subs. that's all

Do you trust the digital interface longevity? If it goes, is the speaker operable?

You need a sub if the driver doesn’t go down to that frequency range. Which it doesn’t. So you need a sub.

What they mean is, could you get away with having a decent powerful standalone speaker for 90% of party applications... answer is probably yes. Depends how much you want to travel light and how little you care about providing full range sound.
