St. Rose of Lima (Isabel de Flores), learned about Jesus and Mary from her maternal grandmother who taught her catechism. When at the age of six her mother and grandmother visited the chapel of Our Lady of the Rosary in the Dominican Church, Rose felt her soul drawn to it as to a magnet. And to this experience, proved a lasting importance in her life, began her deep devotion to Our Lady.

What a beautiful story of our Mother Mary.

My parents took us to church, mass, with them from our very beginnings. The mass changed when I was only 7 years, and I remember it distinctly. Then and now, I continue to genuflect at the end of mass to receive the blessing of peace and other changes I didn't readily comply with at 7 years of age. Taking children to mass at a very young age forms a very strong bond with that child, (we would hope), because our innocence has yet to be tainted. My memories of attending mass before my first Holy Communion are vivid, as is the light of God, continually renewed, within me.
