Their last kiss wasn't actually like Derek said.
It was when Addison was already there, in the episode when Ellis was in the hospital because she could have had livercancer. Meredith was sitting outside crying, when Derek came to ask of she's okay. She said something like "it's so difficult to hate you", and then she kissed him.

okay if i was married and my husband was doing this.. how did addie not just accept she lost derek to mer?? all of s2 was just her holding on to a false hope and then getting upset when it didn’t work out. did she not realize her husband was in love with mer the whole time?
