Great informative video, have done a bunch of eyes and back splice in 3 strand back in boy-scouts to present day but now considering making a couple prusik cords for myself. Already made, they don't break the bank but self made adds so much more value.

Would a 5-ft section be enough to make a 28 inch eye to eye? If not, what is the minimum ft needed?

Thanks for posting this. A few questions: would it be easier to pull out the core if the cover taper strands are removed first? Also, would it be easier to taper the cover if strands were pulled starting at the end of the rope and back toward the splice?
