The quickest method going to splice eyes in braided rope using a selma fid.

This doesn't work with double braid only single braid. That's because the core stops you poking the fid through it without separating it and doing it the long way. Thanks for showing for single braid tho.

In my opinion this is not splicing as I learnd. Spling should hold the rope without any glue, melting etc. I wish you had pulled the loop to show whether it is tight.

I think it will hold more weight than it seems because this type of rope is the same pattern as a chinese finger trap, so as tension is put on it the outer rope should tighten around the inner

That’s unreal I never would’ve thought that if you just get that tool it’s that fast and accurate to splice braided rope I am curious to see that a splice on that rope is rated for

A light duty splice once stitched and whipped would suffice for a tarp tie down.

Straight burying splice needs minimum 1, 5 meter splice in that diameter to be efficient and you have to stitch it

That’s not a splice and will pull right out.

There used to be a way my fathe used to melt the end to make it permanent. You don't perhaps remember how that was done, do you? What you did is what I want to do, but permanent.
