CFD analysis of a water steam cyclone separator with OpenFOAM

preview_player
Показать описание
This CFD analysis shows the fluid dynamics of a water steam cyclone separation unit. Volumetric flow is ~230 m3/hr, inlet velocity 3 m/s. Steam with 10% water content enters the separation device and gets split into dry steam and water by centrifugal forces. The bottom outlet would lead into a steam trap. The top outlet contains dry steam only.

Hello, does this method allow us to see the droplet size distribution at the outlet? Some applications are highly sensitive to free water hence would be great to get an idea of what's the liquid carryover and the size of the droplets being carried over downstream. Thanks for the video btw!

What openFoam solver did you use? twoPhaseEulerFoam?
