Aiwa actually used this method in the 90's. I still use it in all of my home stereo setups every time regardless of the quality it at least doubles the value of the low end speakers while allowing the mid and high range to shine in their proper frequency range instead of clipping because there is no crossover removing frequencies they cannot handle.

Just buy a little 1000 or 1500 watt amp and put it on the box or even under your seat and you have more bass than some stock 6 and 1/2 door speakers

It DOES NOT increase low frequencies. You made a filter using a coil and capacitor which filters highs out.

I see a lot of just buy one these comments in here that is the complete opposite of the point my truck is an old canyon full of dirt and tools it works and gets work done but it's not a ricer or a lambo lmao I like music I like bass I wanted more bass but didn't want to spend anything too get it and that's the point I took old speakers I had laying around built a box out of left scrap wood lol and dug through my electrical components piles till I found something that worked and created the effect I wanted and it has worked very well for what I wanted I get plenty of bass now and it didn't cost me anything to do it lol

If you remove the seats and plastic, then do a nice cut-out you could easily fit a box with 3, maybe even 4 15's. Then all you will need is at least 2 2500 watt amps, id go with 3. Also make sure you do a proper job with weatherstripping to make sure the sheet metal is weather resistant and tight up against the new box. This set up would leave more room in the back than you have now and would sound quite a bit better, shouldn't cost much more than a used honda civic either! Problem solved . . your welcome

Caps take out the high frequencies allowing only low frequencies thru, thats it. They dont increase the low frequencies, it just only allows them to play.

Now ask around for an old pair of 6X9 s to be donated they will improve the base response. you could also add a base tube to that vent from an old boom box or shelf speaker.

Yeah you built a filter. This does work this way. Even more tuning with a port tuning will extend your frequency's in the low.

You made a crossover not an amplifier. It drops the high frequencies but doesn't increase the low frequencies. It just allows low frequencies to get played through the speakers and blocks the treble sounds.
