We used a f150 just like that with a 350 gallon water tank and 2 gas water pumps hoses etc and 3 people in the cab it did alright it was just noticeably slow only used it off-road at low speeds from what I saw

If you want to haul heavy get a 3/4 or 1 Ton. These light duty trucks are only for occasional light hauling needs

I have a 2012 4x4, 3.5L, supercrew + longbed, ecoboost King Ranch F-150. I’ve been hauling rocks occasionally for the past 2 years. The trips are only around 15 minutes long each. They had a weight scale that I used every time. I would usually have around 2500 lbs of rocks in the bed, but on two occasions I had 3200lbs of rocks, and no issues. This brings the total weight of everything to 9600 lbs (two people in the front). However, after doing some more research on this today, I’m not going to ever put more than 2000lbs in the bed anymore lol.

Compost weighs roughly 800 pounds per yard. Your truck looks like it has 2 maybe 2.5 yards so I'd say between 1600 and 2000 pounds.

It always cracks me up that the manufacturers, GM, Ford, Ram, Toyota build these trucks to look big and tough, still they are rated as "light duty". I think many owners forget that fact.

Looks like 1.5 cause compost isn’t very heavy like gravel, but not very light like mulch

Not sure how much but I did that with rocks, but I’m guessing it exceeded the limit. Made it sag like crazy but my 2011 f150 held up.

Add 2 inch lift with extra leaf springs and you be alright since you got 4x4. Truck is a truck

Nowhere near 5000lbs. We had an old cat diesel out of a 1930s cable loader in the back of my ‘84 GMC 3500 C&C flatbed. That truck has a set of new 13pack leaves plus overloads. Scaled out at around 13k. Truck weighs 6200. At 5000 I was just touching the overloads but mains still had an arch. I find it hard to believe Fords claims that a 150 can haul 3000lbs, maybe for a short time once in a while but with only 3-4 leaves and a semi-float axle Is wouldn’t do it

If I’m correct the payload of your truck is GVWR- curb weight = payload. On my 2021 Powerboost doing the math i get about 2100 payload rating but if i look at the yellow sticker inside the door it says my payload is only like 1300lbs. Anyone have a answer for this? Is that bc the yellow sticker is account for five people roughly 140lbs each?

Just short of 3600lbs quarry weighed in by brand new 2018 SX 2.6 EcoBoost. Almost didn't get out of the quarry, swaying all over the place. Would have been an epic my F150 handled it and no ill effects, 2 years later. But I limit myself to about a ton!

Most I tow with my 2010 f-150 is about 9, 500lbs (skid steer) with about another 700lbs of passengers and luggage in the truck. Suspension sags pretty good but Ive never hit the bump stops. It feels like the safe limit of what the truck can handle. Just ease up to speed and I’m able to accelerate just fine on the freeway when I have to. For some reason the truck feels like it tries downshifting to help engine brake but only maybe 1/10 brake applications. My dad’s 2013 does it every time in tow/haul mode. I also like how his newer truck has a gear delete feature. Even in tow/haul mode with my heavy trailer my truck shifts a little too much so locking out 6th, maybe even 5th gear would be nice.

Today with my 1995 4.9 inline 6 f150 xl with the 5 speed transmission I hauled 2500lb of laminate flooring 36 miles up and down hills and winding roads this truck had been in my family since new and has over 300k on it and still on the factory shocks and leafs and I still had 5 inches before it would hit the bump stops. Fyi when new ford says this trucks max payload is 1000lb. But this ol girl still can surprise our family... I'm going to say theres around 2500lb in that bed cuz she's sitting just like my ol girl. You cant beat these old big six 6 300's.

I have a 2016 ford f 150 2.7 ecoboost engine and the back of my truck look just like this hauling the same stuff.... I am curious what was the actual weight? I would guess 1500 lbs at the most...

I put almost two tons of sand in my 08 f150. It was squatted like a dog but it handled it just fine. I wouldn't do it again though.
